This website provides practical information for anyone who is interested in partnership law. It has been prepared by Dr. Michael Twomey, who practises in partnership law and author of Partnership Law, the definitive Irish textbook on the subject.

DEBATED IN PARLIAMENT

The book has been the subject of parliamentary debate in the Irish Parliament because of the suggestions by the author for the reform of the law of partnership in Ireland. See Dáil Debates on Partnership Law

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION

England & Scotland: Dr Twomey’s views on partnership law have also received favour internationally: the book having been relied on extensively by the English Law Commission and the Scottish Law Commission in its recent review of partnership law. He has been described by the English Law Commission and the Scottish Law Commission as

‘distinguished and influential’ commentator on partnership law and as a ‘leading textbook writer’.

Northern Ireland: Dr Twomey has appeared before the Committee for Enterprise, Trade and Investment of the Northern Ireland Assembly to give evidence on the Limited Liability Partnerships Bill 2002. PARTNERSHIP LAW PRACTICE

Dr. Twomey practises in partnership law. His practice consists of advising professional firms (of solicitors, accountants and tax advisers) on their own behalf and on behalf of their clients on all aspects of the law of partnership as it applies to individuals and companies.
